Moment of Silence - Pray silently, remember that you are in the presence of God and humble yourself before him.
Opening Reading: Psalm 34
Prayer of Praise
A suggested prayer of praise: Dear Heavenly Father, we come now to lift to you our praises and thanksgiving. We would magnify your holy name. There is none like you. You deserve our praise at all times and in all places. For you are eternal and you are infinite. You are great, you are majestic, and you are beautiful. For this we praise you. We prayed to you in our fears and you delivered us from them all. You have been good and faithful to us. For this we praise you. All our hope is in you. You make our faces radiant. Keep us as we worship you now. Help us to honor you in our hearts, with our minds and with our words. In the name of Our Lord and Savior who died and rose for us, Jesus Christ, Amen.
Song 1: Wondrous King All Glorious
Wondrous King, all glorious, Sovereign Lord victorious,
O, receive our praise with favor!
From thee welled God's kindness, Though we in our blindness
Strayed from thee, our blessed Saviour.
Strengthen thou, Help us now;
Let our tongues be singing,
Thee our praises bringing.
Heavens, spread the story, Of our Maker's glory,
All the pomp of earth obscuring.
Sun, thy rays be sending, Thy bright beams expending,
Light to all the earth assuring.
Moon and star, Praise afar
Him who glorious made you;
The vast heavens aid you.
O my soul, rejoicing, Sing, thy praises voicing,
Sing, with hymns of faith adore him!
All who here have being, Shout, your voices freeing,
Bow down in the dust before him.
He is God, Sabaoth;
Praise alone the Saviour,
Here and there for ever.
Hallelujahs render, To the Lord most tender,
Ye who know and love the Saviour.
Hallelujahs sing ye, Ye redeemed, O, bring ye
Hearts that yield him glad behavior.
Blest are ye, Endlessly;
Sinless there for ever,
Ye shall laud him ever.
Reading: Romans 1:24-32 (read in preparation for confession)
Prayer of Confession
A suggested prayer of confession: Holy God, We recognize that you made us to worship you and to reflect your image as male and female. We followed our first parents in sin and only through Christ are we reconciled to you and made your children. Although we know you, we confess our ongoing struggle with remaining sin which still needs to be put to death. Forgive us for our failures to give you praise and thanks. Forgive us for our tendency to put our hope in earthly things and to worship what you have created instead of you who made us and all things. Forgive us for our impure thoughts and actions and for seeking pleasure in what you have wisely forbidden. Give us hearts that delight in you and are eager to obey and honor you with our bodies. Forgive us for coveting what is not ours, for envying your blessing upon others, for speaking evil of our neighbor, of finding our comfort and purpose in having more and more trinkets of this world. Oh God, forgive us and cleanse us now. Renew our hearts to seek your glory alone. For we pray in Jesus name, Amen.
Assurance of Pardon: Romans 1:16-17 (remember that the gospel is true and that God loves to save sinners)
In the gospel we have the assurance that by faith the righteousness of God in Christ is credited to our account and thus we stand before Him justified and adopted as His own. Let us never doubt but hold fast to that truth until He comes or calls us home.
Song 2: Great Is Thy Faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
there is no shadow of turning with thee;
thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
as thou hast been thou forever wilt be.
Great is thy faithfulness!
Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see:
all I have needed thy hand hath provided -
Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon, and stars in their courses above,
join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love. [Refrain]
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! [Refrain]
Song 3: I Need Thee Every Hour
I need thee ev'ry hour, most gracious Lord;
no tender voice like thine, can peace afford.
Refrain:
I need thee, O I need thee, ev'ry hour I need thee;
O bless me now, my Savior, I come to thee.
I need thee ev'ry hour; stay thou near by;
temptations lose their pow’r when thou art nigh. [Refrain]
I need thee ev'ry hour, in joy or pain;
come quickly, and abide, or life is vain. [Refrain]
I need thee ev'ry hour; teach me thy will,
and thy rich promises, in me fulfil. [Refrain]
I need thee ev'ry hour, Most Holy One;
O make me thine indeed, thou blessed Son. [Refrain]
Song 4: Jesus Thank You
The mystery of the cross I cannot comprehend
The agonies of Calvary
You the perfect Holy One, crushed Your Son
Who drank the bitter cup reserved for me
Refrain:
Your blood has washed away my sin
Jesus, thank You
The Father's wrath completely satisfied
Jesus, thank You
Once Your enemy, now seated at Your table
Jesus, thank You
By Your perfect sacrifice I've been brought near
Your enemy You've made Your friend
Pouring out the riches of Your glorious grace
Your mercy and Your kindness know no end [Refrain]
Lover of my soul
I want to live for You x3
[Refrain]

Prayer of Response (ask God to sanctify us and make us doers of his word)
Song 5: God Moves In A Mysterious Way
God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm
Deep in His dark and hidden mines
With never-failing skill
He fashions all His bright designs
And works His sovereign will
So God we trust in You
O God we trust in You
O fearful saints new courage take
The clouds that you now dread
Are big with mercy and will break
In blessings on your head
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense
But trust Him for His grace
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face
So God we trust in You
O God we trust in You
When tears are great
And comforts few
We hope in mercies ever new
We trust in You
God's purposes will ripen fast
Unfolding every hour
The bud may have a bitter taste
But sweet will be the flower
Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain
God is His own interpreter
And He will make it plain
So God we trust in You
O God we trust in You
When tears are great
And comforts few
We hope in mercies ever new
We trust in You
Closing Prayer
Doxology
