Charlie Evans - Charlie grew up in Roanoke and became a Christian in high school after a neighbor invited him to church. God spent several months awakening him to his own sin and unworthiness as he listened to the Bible being taught before finally bringing him to an understanding of the cross through the apostle Paul’s testimony in Philippians 3:9, "...and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith."
Charlie saw the goodness and loving kindness of God then, and believed that Jesus had really come and lived and died so that sinners could be counted righteous in his name. From that point on, by the undeserved mercy of God, Charlie’s life has been an ever deepening experience of what it means to know and love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
Before serving as the Assistant Pastor at Grace Church Charlie was the Pastor of All Nations Church in Roanoke. In the fall of 2017 All Nations and Grace Church joined together to form one congregation and Charlie joined the staff at Grace. He has a degree from the Moody Bible Institute and he and his wife Gretchen live with their six children near downtown Roanoke.
